Protecting Your Print Investment
Thank you for ordering a print from Jerry Lane Photography & Creative Media. It means a lot to have your support.
Whether you bought a standard photo print, a fine art print, or a custom order, please note the following to ensure maximum quality retention and longevity for your artwork.
If you bought an unframed print please consider having it framed professionally.
Please use UV protective glass where possible to help protect the image. Ask for conservation grade mounts and materials - this is an additional investment but it’ll protect your print for the longer term. We use conservation grade mounts and tapes in our framed prints.
Do not bend the print.
Do not handle the printed surface without cotton gloves.
Do not use acid-based tapes such as sellotape — these can damage the print over time.
Do not display the print in an area that receives direct sunlight – no matter what type of glass used, this will lead to degradation of the image over time. Please consider this when choosing your print’s location.
Avoid extreme fluctuations in humidity and temperature as best as possible. This can affect both the print and the timbers used in the frames.
Consider rotating the location of the print with another over time if the area it is hanging in is in direct sunlight. Again, we suggest avoiding positioning the frame in direct sunlight.
All our fine art prints are produced in Wicklow Ireland by the brilliant industry leading lab 360-DPI. We use at least 70% UV protective anti-reflective glass and conversation grade mounts and tapes. We are incredibly grateful to Steve and his team at 360-DPI for their expertise and guidance. We believe this enables us to offer a stunning range of prints of our work, a collection we can be proud of and trust that it’ll last a lifetime.
