Crafting another chapter.
Hi friend.
I’m a fundamental believer that we are all creative. I believe we can all create beautiful art, soulful music, captivating stories and so much more.
I believe deeply in life long learning and consistent growth, and I’m fortunate to say I have a partner who feels the same. It’s a great feeling to grow and to support another in doing so.
A Season of Change.
Over the years I have found myself drawn to the written word, and for a host of reasons I’ve only ever tip-toed around the edge of writing more. Despite this scatty-natured approach I know it’s good for me to write. I know when my mind races it helps to journal. I know when I’m trying to share an idea it helps to write it down. It helps to hash it out on a page. It helps to refine it on the screen. I absorb conversations, journal, then share my ideas back. And when all of this is done I can share a clear narrative or idea, through a process I love.
I also know that being by the ocean brings my mind a level of calm unparalleled in any other location, and affords my ideas space to grow. From the distant rumble of the waves crashing out at sea, the waters running up the shore, and the wind whistling it’s way along the coastline, each sound and sensation calms my mind and sparks new ideas.
As I look to grow my skillset and to grow as an individual, I am finding myself drawn back to writing. I’m finding myself drawn to reading and learning more, while consuming less and less content on Instagram. In many ways I am looking for depth. For knowledge. For growth. I don’t find this in 15 second clips on social media and in content crafted for rapid consumption. Of late I’ve found it in books, in podcasts, and through long-form content on sites like Substack.
It is with the latter in mind that I am today announcing a new project on Substack – Letters From A Coastline. Letters From A Coastline will be a vehicle enabling me to share pieces written and inspired by life by the coastline. There’ll be posts on wellness, mental health, mindful productivity, love, life, and creativity. I’ll share photo stories and more on the publication, and so much more. I believe that having a direct connection to those who like my work matters, something which Instagram etc no longer really offer. Substack provides a platform where I get direct connection to you, the reader. It enables me to share the work I love, and I’m excited to develop the project going forward.
If you’d like to follow along please click here and subscribe. Then, whenever I post it’ll come direct to your inbox (or in the Substack app if you have it).
