Going, going, gone…
Hey friend. I hope you’re well and had a good Easter break.
Today I am launching the third and final batch of products in my Market Selects print clearance sale. So far I have had two launches and sold a lot of prints off at their lowest ever prices. Today is the last and with some of the biggest discounts yet. It’ll launch on my Facebook & Instagram around 6pm.
The reasons for all of this are simple and I'll dive more into each below.
Providing easier size options for customers to understand.
Reducing the amount of space required to store products.
Uncertainty around the future of market selling.
Providing easier size options for customers to understand.
I spend a lot of time playing with print sizes, finishes, frame options and more. To me it doesn’t matter if the print is shared in A sizes, centimetres, inches, or any other unit of measurement that could be applicable. I’ll find the frame I want and need, no problem. That said, I know it’s not as simple for everyone to find frames or understand these choices so I’m making changes going forward at markets and in the market section of this site. I’ll be moving from offering prints sized by inches to selling prints that are A sizes – specifically A3 & A4. I’ll still be able to custom make larger sizes etc as needed, but for the sake of ease of use for customers, having listened to all of your feedback, i’m moving these budget prints to A sizes only.
Reducing the amount of space required to store products.
In case you missed it on socials, I recently moved house and while I have space now it is most certainly finite. Consequently, it’s not feasible to be storing and managing large volumes of mounts, frames, prints, packing materials etc for 3-4 different print size options. As a result of reducing the print options to 2 sizes I’ll be better able to manage my space and stocks.
Uncertainty around the future of market selling.
For the last few years I have sold prints at Ballybunion Community Market during the summer and at 1-off markets off-season. As much of the images I have offered for sale are from Ballybunion the market was the perfect place to be selling them. This wasn’t without its challenges with some days last year proving very challenging from a weather and footfall point of view. Based on the information I last heard I am unsure if the market is going ahead this year (aside from the MOYA Festival market on the May Bank Holiday which I’m excited for). Consequently, keeping a large volume of stocks around the house with no guarantee of having markets to sell them at is both wasteful and counter-intuitive.
All of this leads me to running these clearance sales at hugely discounted prices. I will not have another clearance sale like these and it is your chance to own some of my work at the cheapest rates it will ever be sold off at. I look forward to the refined releases in time and hope to see the markets return for 2024, where I hope to meet many of you.
Thank you for the support. Be sure to follow me on Instagram & Facebook if you want to see what’s on the final clearance sale later today.
