A Sunday in December
The waves lapped gently up the shore while out back larger sets charge against the cliffs. The sunlight from Kerry Head casts an orange glow through the water, as the gulls arch out high above the shore. Old friends and reunited family members walk together along the beach, grateful for this moment in time. Others run the strand and dive head on into the cold waters of the tide. Against the cold breeze people drink coffee and tuck into waffles as the smell of the coffee & waffles creeps up the road. As the night draws in and golden hour turns to blue hour folks pass by laughing and enjoying the beauty of this wonderful place many of us call home.
For many, December 20, 2020, is not a normal Sunday before Christmas. It's a year where many of us will not see those we hold dearest due to shared efforts to protect the vulnerable in our society. Others have lost those they hold dearest this year. Not only from COVID but from many other illnesses. It has been an enormously challenging year universally. No matter what happens in the weeks & months ahead, it is on ourselves to move forwards with kindness & empathy at the core of the decisions we make.
Mind yourselves, be kind to yourselves, and I hope the coming days have moments of joy for you all. I'll be sharing more photos on my Instagram in the coming days. 😊
